TWENTY ✖ MALE ✖ BISEXUAL ✖ MUTANTS ✖Power/Ability Telekinesis - The ability to control and manipulate objects with one's mind. With it, Ben here can simply move objects, cause them to levitate, or even go further to crush or destroy things by mere thought though he prefers to avoid the latter, never really fond of harming things or people. As with most abilities, it started out rather weakened and at first he could only manipulate simple objects and lift lighter objects however with time he managed to practice his abilities and learn how to control them as they evolved. But the more powerful they became, the more pain it caused him to the point he tries to remain in the simple stuff. Should he try to use his telekinesis at full capacity, it could render him unconscious or he could even die. So after a close call on his part, he has refrained from using them too much, even though simple things can too cause him an annoying headache. He still hasn't uncapped his full potential just yet but he's not too worried about discovering it anytime soon. He'd like to be around to protect his younger siblings a little longer before he ends up accidentally killing himself. ✖ Personality Benjamin has always been a kind and selfless man, born and raised to behave that way. A mature gentleman that most would consider the perfect guy. Even parents would try to set up their daughters with him. He treats people with the respect they deserve and always tries to help people out if he can. However in comparison to his younger siblings, he is rather quiet and shy, much preferring to work behind the scenes than to be in the spotlight. Unfortunately, being the older child, he did have more pressure on him from the start, his parents wanting him to be someone important and well appreciated in society. How they would cringe if they knew how far he is from that goal. He's always been pushed around, even as a child he was often picked on by the other kids and always tried to do whatever he could to impress or even gain some sort of appreciation from them. This went for his father as well even though he knew the man only pushed him so hard to make sure he was successful. That hasn't changed in the current times either as he is often pushed around by his boss who likes to work him like a dog which sadly, Benjamin will do in order to keep his job. He wants to be able to take care of his family. So if he must swallow his pride and deal with some unfairness, he will do so without hesitation. He cares deeply for his family, his younger siblings in particular. He's always been protective of them though this seemed to worsen when he discovered they too had powers. With work and college however it is difficult to always be there for them. But they both know if they ever need anything all they had to do was call and he'd be there as soon as he could. He knows what it's like to grow up with an unexpected ability and is glad they didn't have to go through the learning and coping process alone like he had to. This man isn't without fault however he can be rather negative, balancing out his optimistic sister. He can also be a little moody and secretive. He's self loathing and a perfectionist, trying to make himself what his parents hoped he'd be but never satisfied with himself. He's even got a temper on him but with everything else, he bottles up most of his emotions, especially after he discovered his powers. There are just things the world shouldn't see and wouldn't want to know. So what they don't know wont hurt them, right? ✖ History It all started 20 years back when a young married couple had their first child. He seemed like a normal kid. Happy, fun-loving, without a care in the world. Frankly, most would probably be surprised in comparison to the more serious and quiet guy we have today. And it wasn't long until he had a little sister and brother join the family, promising to be the best big brother and protect them no matter what. And that he did. Despite the occasional fights that were normal for siblings, they were pretty close and always looked out for each other. Even when their parents tried to make sure he studied and prepped him for success he always tried to make time for them, much preferring to be around them than to worry about boring stuff like the future. Until of course he began to notice some weird changes. He didn't know how to describe it. He just woke up one day to feel a little off. A little different. He couldn't figure it out but tried to ignore it and continue on with life like it wasn't even there. But it simply started getting worse, even to the point he had painful headaches and would get stressed, regretfully snapping at his siblings when they wanted him to play with them. He knew something was wrong and he could tell they did to. Sure they fought but that was mostly playful. He was actually angry that time and as soon as he saw the hurt looks on their faces he apologized before brushing them off to talk to his parents about it. Of course their solution for everything was a trip to the doctor, much to Ben's demise. After a trip to the doctor, they assured him there was nothing wrong, simply telling him to take some pain medication to take care of the headaches. They barely helped at all, if any. And instead of searching more help, he decided to try and ignore it, becoming even more quieter and distant as it went on. It wasn't till finally one day he finally discovered the reasoning behind it. It was just a random occurrence, him wishing he could retrieve his drink from across the room. The mere focus was enough and he noticed it was actually floating his way, the pressure from the misuse of his powers finally relieved. Of course with it came more stress. Every kid always dreamed about having superpowers. But when it actually happens, it's pretty scary. What would his parents think? Would everyone consider him a freak? What would people do to him if they found out? The fear was enough to keep him determined to hide it, further silencing the boy and making him shy away from people in fear of his power slipping. Of course, he couldn't ignore it. The pain would only return. So he practiced in secret, bettering his telekinesis whilst trying to figure out what he was going to do about it. The days continued on and Ben continued to try and cope. Unfortunately, he pushed his powers too much one day, actually knocking himself unconscious in the process. He only remembered waking up in the hospital with his family waiting in the room for him. No one, not even the doctors could understand why it had happened. Of course Ben had an idea. And from then on, he became even more careful about using his abilities. Of course things just seemed to get worse from then on. Especially when he found out he wasn't the only one in the family with powers. His sister had just got home from a sudden trip to the doctor, a much to similar situation he had when he was her age. And when she asked him if there was something wrong with her, it just seemed to click. He couldn't believe it. How was this happening? Not only that but they found out his brother was the same as well. He couldn't understand it and didn't have the answers to it. But he promised both of them it would be okay and made them promise they wouldn't tell anyone about their powers in order to keep them safe. Years have passed since then. Benjamin is in college now, working to be a successful man like his parents wanted him to be. But not a day passes by without him worrying over his siblings, wishing he could be there to make sure they were alright. He's realized he just has to trust them. No matter how much I wish it, I can see nothing wrong with this app, thus I shall have to accept it. So yep, go play around with him on the site and be sure that I'll ask for a RP once, with him. :) He seems the kind of guy that my characters will like. //ignore the almost sarcasm, plzandthxyeh.
