Mixed Martial Arts – Kayla has undergone extensive training in hand-to-hand combat from a fresh age. While little girls were taking ballet lessons, she was being instructed in karate. Aikido and boxing came next, combined with Yoga to increase her endurance. The woman has spent 20 years learning how to defend from blows and incapacitate her opponents. Her main ability lies in using her opponents’ strengths against them. Stealth – Light on her feet and knowledgeable about camouflaging techniques, Kayla knows how to remain undetected. This ability was gained during her spy training (see History). Handguns – Necessary in her spy career, Kayla has learned how to use various types of pistols. Gadgets – From tear-inducing gas bombs, to wall-scaling sucker boots and window “slicers” – devices that create perfectly circular cuts on glass surface. Kayla buys her supplies from Emille, a Mohawk sporting, black market vendor renown in the underground for his wide selection of contraband devices. Lockpicking – A skill learned from her once best friend, Leonard. Weaknesses: - Not particularly strong, easily overpowered. - Not especially fast. - Very sensitive to pain, gives in easily. - She’s just human? ✖ Personality Individualistic, or selfish, Kayla rarely places other people’s interests above her own. She pursues her interests with little care about how they may impact those around her and doesn’t feel too bad if she leaves a trail of negative impact in her wake. Naturally deceptive, she’s perfected the art of lying and can easily convince herself she’s actually telling the truth to avoid giving herself away. Manipulative and abusive, she won’t shy away from using others to further her plots and discard them when their part was played. Confident and in control, she hides her feelings well and keeps up a tough front. Unimpressionable, she’s hard to influence and flat-out hates being told what to do. Cunning, she uses every trick in the book to get her way. Very hard to stir, she keeps her cool even if she’s screaming on the inside. Her anger is hard to tempt, slow to build but explosive and dangerous when truly brought out. Kayla has seen her fair share of oddities and unbelievable situations and she’s not easily to be taken by surprise. Flirtatious, mischievous and seductive, she enjoys playing with people, but prefers to keep it an emotionless affair. This sometimes backfires on her, because she’s secretly swayed by other people’s feelings, especially if she likes them. She’s a cold snake with people she has no respect for or considers pathetic. Very intuitive, she can easily pick up on non-verbal signals and react appropriately. She experiences moment of “instant curiosity” concerning other people and won’t be satisfied until she finds out everything about them. She’s a natural stalker and isn’t discouraged easily. Elegant and refined, she has a taste for finery and luxurious living. She’s easily attracted to antiques, jewelry and eccentricity. She appreciates the ambitious. She’s never had a serious relationship, always finding that she loses interest somewhere along the way. She falls in love once every blue moon but the two people she’s truly cared about were not interested in her in return. Kayla doesn’t get over feelings easily and although she’s gotten over her feelings for the last guy (who’s married at the moment), she would be ready to sacrifice her life for him should the circumstance present itself. ✖ History Karen was born to a pair of CIA agents, one a specialist spy and the other an investigations director. Because of this, her childhood was “contained”, her parents preferring to hire private teachers for her and immediately introducing her to the world of battle and tactical decisions. As per requirement, they did not reveal to her what they truly worked as until she was qualified to be introduced to the field herself. Growing up, she had very few friends and was a very quiet child. Because she was immediately introduced to martial arts, she became perceptive and guarded where she had started out soft and caring. At first, she despised the training and wanted to lock herself in the house and never come out to the inevitable bruises forthcoming, but her parents were adamant about continuing her instruction. Seeing as she had no way of opposing their will as a young child, she did the only thing available to her outside crumbling – becoming stronger. The moment she became decisive it was obvious she had natural aptitude for what would later become a spy career. Early on, she learned to contain her emotional reactions and be as blank as possible when necessary, despite being a very expressive person naturally. By the time she was 17 she was already assigned minor missions within the CIA and she became great friends with Leonard, an 18 year old who basically mirrored her situation. A year later, Karen realized she had fallen head over heels in love with him. She had only cared about one other the same in her childhood, the boy from the comic book shop who greeted her with a smile every time she came in and eventually became her first friend. As it happened, he didn’t share her feelings and now, the situation was repeating itself. Leonard had eyes only for Lauren, a girl he knew from highschool. Karen held onto hope of drawing his attention but Leonard started a relationship with Lauren. Despite giving up, she never stopped caring about him and the two were quite a dynamic duo during missions, until one day, when everything went wrong. A terrorist due managed to set Karen’s father up and he was considered to have defected from the CIA and to be working undercover to sabotage operations. There was only one way to deal with such cases – swift elimination. In the hassle that ensued, her mother was killed for conspiring with him when she aided him to flee, Kayla found out about the DNCS and mutants and she was also forced to run away, unless she wanted to face the same consequences as her mother due to the terrorists’ plot. She ended up half dead in another country, thin of starvation and weary of being hunted, when Gabriel, a local smuggler, took her in and nursed her back to health. Thus began her career as an outlaw. Even though she assumed a new name and kept out of public records, Kayla is always wary of the men after her. Kayla doesn’t know if her father escaped or was caught. The whole situation has left her jaded against the government and the law in general. Now she makes her living out of stealing generously and spying or “retrieving” things for whoever knows how to pay someone of her skill. ✖ Example Did before. This character is played by [Norbex].
