✖Power/AbilityPYROCLASTIC MANIPULATION A powerful control over heat. Pyroclastic kinesis can increase heat two basic ways. One is to hoeeld it back and keep it "pressurized" once it reaches a sufficent level the heat is released in one explosive movement of molecules, creating fires which can then be controlled and directed by redirecting the "base" of the flames - its source of heat. This version is relatively easy to "weaponize" being able to create bursts of fire that burn people or small explosions. The second method is to provide a steady heat that builds up over time without being "pressurized." Unlike the first method, it is much more difficult to With additional time, the second method is useful for creating intense sources of heat around physical objects can change their properties, such as turning metal molten or turning rock into lava. She's immune to heat and its related products from her own power, but only her, not anything she might be wearing. In addition, the power is generally linked to her own emotional state. Being agitated will often cause heat to rise around her unless she is firmly in control over it. It's also very important to note that while she has control over heat, she can only increase it's strength, or stop producing it. She cannot voluntarily stop the heat unless she stops producing it and allows it to cool naturally. ✖ PersonalityPOSITIVE TRAITS
- Independent - Ashley is the kind of person who can live and make decisions on their own. She can make her decisions on her own without much help and is perfectly capable of making her own way through life.
- Courageous - Ashe can keep acting even when under pressure. SHe doesn't allow fear to freeze her in place and prevent her from doing things that need to be done.
- Dedicated - Even though she doesn't usually trust people to carry through on what they say, Ashley will do her absolute best to carry through on anything that she is supposed to. Even if its only something she told herself that she would do.
- Ascetic - Ashe doesn't need a lot to make a living. In fact, she actually prefers the bare minimum. Lots of accessories or jewelry have always made her feel uncomfortable and she tends to live in places that aren't very fancy.
- Practical - Doing what is most efficient is something that is something that just works for Ashley and its something that she can do well. She won't take shortcuts per se, but if there's a way to get it done in an hour and a way to get it done in three hours, you can bet which way she'll use.
- Caring - She prefers to keep this aspect of her personality under wraps as much as possible, but the truth is that she really does care about the people that she encounters. Too much for her own comfort actually.
NEGATIVE TRAITS
- Hot-tempered - Perhaps unfortunately considering how her power fits with her own emotional state, Ashe is quite easily angered and it takes a while for her to "cool off" which can end up being very problematic.
- Scared - Though she absolutely despises admitting it, Ashe is terrified by a lot of things. She's scared of dying, she's scared that one day all the things that she's done might catch up to her. But most of all, she's scared of herself and her own powers.
- Introverted - Ashley doesn't make many friends, nor does she make them easily. She does her best to avoid other people, both for self-justified practical reasons, and for the fact that being around people she doesn't know makes her rather nervous. What if they judge her?
- Impatient - Waiting is not Ashley's strong suit. She would much prefer action of any kind, even if its something useless that keeps her hands busy, over just sitting and doing nothing.
- Distrustful - She doesn't make it a hobby to trust people until they've proven themselves fully trustworthy. She's been ratted out more times than she would have liked, and she assumes others will do the same.
- Paranoid - Ashley is constantly watching her own back, in an almost constant fear that what she's running from will catch up and find her. This makes her especially guarded when talking about herself, or where she's been.
✖ HistoryAshley was born in a small, sleepy, Californian town. Her upbringing wasn't all that special. Her father and mother both had decently-paying jobs, but even though they spent plenty of time at work, Ashley was close to her family and didn't really have much that she lacked. Getting into school she was athletic and hardworking, and her parents let he play whichever sports she wanted. They'd also spend plenty of time going on family camping trips and hiking around some of the mountains out in California.
It was a quiet, happy, and unremarkable life, until Ashley turned 13. That entire year, she found herself more irritable. Her father was willing to pass it off on puberty, but her mother looked slightly more concerned. She began to get progressively more irritable as the year went along, but things didn't really get bad until her 14th birthday. For her 14th birthday her parents gave her a bracelet, made out of some kind of black-polished metal. Her mother said the gift was hand made, but the happiness of the night wouldn't last. That would be the same night that Ashley's powers would go berserk, and eventually the entire house would be burned down. Ashley alone was unscathed, and escaped the burning house with the bracelet in tow.
Fearing that she'd be blamed for the fire, she fled, not aware that the authorities had no evidence that she'd survived - the flames had been hot enough they could barely piece together any remains to confirm her parent's deaths. Convinced she was being hunted by the police for arson and murder, she struck out on her own. It was difficult at first and she barely scraped by, but slowly - bit by bit - she managed to eek out a living and gain slightly more control over her own powers. It took her a while, but she eventually found out that her "handcrafted" bracelet - her only real tie to her former, happy life, was not actually made out of metal and then painted black, but made out of solid obsidian. She was mystified, but continued onwards. Slowly she began to hear rumors of mutants. Naturally, like any conspiracy theory, there existed forums in the corner of the internet detailing such things.
While any other time she would have ignored it, with what she was capable of, there was no way she couldn't afford to turn a blind eye to it. She was living in a town, having hitch-hiked her way across most of the country trying to start a new life in a new town, always moving after a few weeks or months. Apparently these powers were genetic and could be passed from generation to generation. The amount of control though to create obsidiant and without it turning into a pile of melted rock would be phenomenal. Though it scared her, Ashe acknowledged that she couldn't afford to leave her powers wild and unchecked. As much as it terrified her, she had to find somewhere where she could hone her powers so that she wouldn't be dangerous to anyone else. ✖ ExampleXanthus wasn't sure what exactly compelled him to take a walk past the Raven Tail guild hall while he was in the area. He wasn't planning on entering it, there wasn't much of anything there left for him there. Just a couple of passing contacts, and as far as he could tell one of those had disappeared more or less off the face of the planet. There were some other people like that that he could mention, but at least it appeared to not actually be the case.
He pulled the letter he'd recieved that morning in the mail out of his pocket and opened it again. That one little collection of words did more to set his mind at ease than just about anything had in a long time. "Xanthus. This letter will probably be a bit of a relief after a long while of being worried. I'm really sorry. I can't quite say where I am right now, or what I'm doing, but it's very important and I'll send you a letter every week. I should have told you about this in person before I disappeared and made you worry. Anyways, until I get home, if it's not a lot of trouble, I'd like you to find Izumi and let her stay at home. She'll be more than entertained with all the things to do in Era, and there's not really any place safer, especially with you in the knights, right? I love you.
~ Mai
Xanthus sighed and folded the paper up. That only left one person left on Xanthus' list of "unaccounted for." And that...that was probably the most important one for him at all. At any rate, he was out walking between towns. Izumi was from what he'd heard living in with a nice older couple. The blonde heard a lot of things these days. He'd pick up his girlfriend's sister, or at least he'd show up and give the offer.
He glanced to the side, where under a tree a figure was resting. Probably sleeping. Well, there were all kinds of places to rest, but if it was a mage he didn't see why they didn't wait until they got to Raven Tail...
Xanthus took another pair of steps and then froze, his blood running cold. There was no mistaking that tone of hair color. That sash wrapped around his face like an eyepatch. That bare chest with the crags covering it like a second skin. Son. Of. A.
Xanthus gave a deep breath and then walked over. His brother was asleep, and appeared to be in decent health. The sun was setting fairly quickly and he breathed. There were enough raw materials around to at least make a modest camp fire. Ramsay would probably be fine, but Xanthus was going to stick around until his brother woke up. He looked tired. Besides...while Ramsay was alseep and the fire was building in strength, he needed some time to figure out what to say. Making the offer to Izumi...it would have to wait. This character is played by [DragonOfAsh].

She's adorable. I love her fiery personality and ability! She definitely sounds like a fun character to have around and I look forward to stalking her threads. Please post your Power Claim, Face Claim and check out the Open Threads. An Admin will sort her into the "Mutant" membergroup as soon as possible.
