So uh >_> this story sort of came to me. Centers around Lyre and listen to this song while reading if you can. Clicky.
___________
Taking a drag from his cigarette and icy eyes gazing over, Lyre flinched in response her grey eyes avoiding his cold blue ones.
"Because we're siblings."
The word siblings was tearing apart the very foundation of everything she's ever known. Fingers digging into the sheets of her bed, before a rather nasty glare set into her eyes and mouth forming a snarl.
"We're not! I've been an only child all my life, I have no idea who you are!"
The person across the room, made no movement toward her outburst and simply took another drag of his cigarette before blowing it out the open window. Listening to the sirens in the distance. "So it seems. Those human parents of yours seems to have forgotten their end of the bargain. You see," He began, tapping his cigarette outside the window, watching the ash drop from the tip and down below. "You were born to our whore of a mother whose only intention was to keep our family's ability alive and in doing so she slept with many mutants, and some humans." His lips curled in slight disgust. "And when her children were born, she would give them to families who would agree to our bargain. The bargain was to raise the child as their own, and they would be financially set for life." His cold blue eyes gazed over to Lyre who bit her lip in response, holding his steely gaze. "As precognition users, predicting stocks.. among other things.. leaves us financially stable to put it lightly. And in exchange for this money they would raise you." His eyes narrowed and Lyre flinched. "But the other end of the bargain was, should you show signs of having an ability especially precognition, they were to train you in steps on how to control and master that. But it seems they grew attached to you and decided to throw our bargain out the window, even going as far as to tell you to stop speaking of what you see to others." The man before her snarled and crushed the cigarette in his hand, allowing it to fall out the window once the embers of it had died out. "The deal specifically stated that they would care for you and should you show any signs they would inform us and train you until you were sixteen in which they would contact and we would come get you and continue from there!" He was yelling now, icy blue eyes lit with a fire and a fierce snarl on his face as his lips twitched down. "And they would have still received money until the day they died! But they chose to keep you a secret from us and in return for their traitorous acts I will have the very foundation ripped from beneath them!" With a loud slam, the stand beside him toppled over and he stood, shoulders heaving and fists curled and shaking at his sides.
Lyre curled up against the wall, furthest away from the angered man before her and pulled her knees to her chest. Making herself as small as possible as her voice wavered, the image of her parents flashing through her vision as she stared at his angered face. "Please.. please leave them alone. They took good care of me.." The man snarled at her. "They kept you from me!" Lyre felt the tears bubble up in her eyes in fear for her parents, protest dying on her lips as she watched his pupils constrict and the icy blue alight with color, like a storm brewing and lightning lighting up the clouds in the very same manner hers did when she predicted things while awake. And with swift movements, he pulled a gun from his back and Lyre felt her throat tighten in fear before realizing it was aimed at her door.
Five minutes of tense silence, the door burst open and Lyre nearly jumped from her skin. Watching the panting man as he leaned on his knees before composing himself before this intimidating person and kneeling down on one knee before the icy eyed monster. "Your request has been fulfilled, the people you have requested are being tailed and watched 24/7 and we only await your orders, Lucian."
Lucian gave a sickeningly sadistic smile, re-holstering the gun to his back and pulling out photos from the inside of his suit and tossing them at Lyre who watched with wide eyes the pictures floated down onto her bed. People she knew, people from the cafe and people who she would go as far as to say she had a better relationship with most. While none were certainly friends of hers, they were as close as she could get to something so similar. "Wh-Why do you have pictures of all these people?!" Lyre's voice was high with fear and emotion that seeped from every pore. Lucian only gave her a sadistic smile, slowly making his way toward her and watching as Lyre's eyes widened with fear toward him, which immediately caused his eyes to narrow, and she knowingly attempted to look away but his hand caught her chin, forcing her to look at him as he leant over toward her.
"Because my dear sweet sister, if you don't predict exactly how and when they die. Which, of course, only I know. Then I will have each and every one of them slaughtered like lambs." With a gentle kiss on the top of her head, Lyre let out a loud wail and the tears dripped down her face. "I told you I can't predict the intentions of others like you can unless they act upon it!" She was desperate for him to stop, to believe her and leave her the hell alone. There was no way this man was her brother, even if they did share the same brother, even if he did show her evidence. He couldn't be! This monster couldn't be!
"That's why, I'm here. I'm helping you grow and master your ability. I'm here, to help keep you safe." His lips remained on the top of her head, his hand still a startling strong grip on her chin as he moved, icy eyes smiling into terrified grey ones.
"I'll wake you in three hours-" Lyre wailed loudly, terror written on her face as she tried to move away from him. "Go back to sleep." His eyes narrowed and with a pressure to the side of her temple, watched as her grey eyes rolled to the back of her head and her body went limp. Falling to the side as soon as he released her chin, standing straight and dusting off his suit. Icy eyes glaring at the wall.
"Any reason you're still here." It wasn't a question, and the man who had watched the entire scene with terrified admiration, gave a hasty bow and retreated the room quietly.[/ul]____________
Uh, yeah. -cough- *secretly loves torturing her characters* >_>[/size]
