✖Power/AbilityOkay well, so he doesn't really have an ability. But for a non-superhuman, Eli's amazingly fast, strong, tough, and nimble. Besides that, he's a damn good martial artist, swordsman, and gunslinger... So, yeah, Villains beware! ✖ Personality Well, read his history. He's violent. And overzealous. But he believes what he is doing is good for society. In some ways yes, in others.. no. But he thinks it's right anyway. So his violence has a lot to do with how his parents lived and died, but he's found a convenient way to release pressure.
But around friends? He's cool as a cucumber. Can't have that secret identity running loose can we? He is a likable guy, maybe not super-confident, but people trust him. Not just with their secrets, but with their free time. At school, parties, whatever it is, people put their faith in him.
And he delivers. ✖ HistoryWell I guess Eli's dad is really the one to blame for this. After all he's the owner of the dojo down in the south of town. Well, he decided he'd raise his son up to be just like him. And so he trained the kid how to fight with your hands and your swords. Oh yeah swords, turned out he collected those. Mounted up in the dojo. Not to mention belts full of knives and extras stockpiled in the back... Okay so the guy was practically preparing himself for a zombie invasion. And his wife helped out too.
She owned a little patch of woods northeast of town that had a shooting range, a little wooden cabin they used for parties sometimes, or shelter, and a little workshop building on it. Now in this workshop building was more like a hangar; it had a workshop that was sort of like a bunker on the first floor, and down below, stockpiled with guns and ammunition. On his days off from Dojo training, he'd come out with his mom and master technique.
I mean you can imagine how these two were attracted to each other. Both loved violence, and both loved weapons, and both were extreme survivalists. They bred their passions into Eli.
And then New Year's Day came, a month or two after he'd turned 16. They got out on a date, and maybe they drank, but that didn't matter; someone else did. He weaved through the streets like a dagger searching its mark. And the blood boiled with its poison, his car slammig their car up against a barbershop in one of those diagonal-edged streets. Of course that his mom had been carrying a grenade in her jeans pocket only served to worsen the situation. Some how though their car was part of the absolute, his had escaped relatively unscathed. He had nary a scratch on him... and he ended up getting scot free, partially cause he blew a negative on the breathalyzer, and partially 'cause he was a goddamn drug dealer. And he walked. It'd been their fault, he said, and witnesses said. And the judge said. And that was it.
Left in their will was... not much. They used half the insurance to pay off debt, and then the rest was left to him, just to survive, buy a car, get a job, maybe get through university. And they left to him their meager apartment, of course. And then... the Dojo. Which, as it wasn't much of a business anymore, had its power supply cut. They'd bought the building, not rented, so... it was still Eli's. And the patch of land was still his, and operated same way it always had, with solar and wind power. Nice.
But sucked that his parents died. So there he was, some intensely trained fighter, fencer, and marksman, and he sat there in his dojo surrounded by swords. And he had a mandate. The justice system failed him; so he could carry it out. So he had a will, too, a will to use what was left of the will to save the memory of his parents. So, always a fan of 'Deadpool' from the Marvel comics series, he decided to be like the guy.
He got thermal underarmor first, pretty cheap, and a ski mask and snowboarding goggles. And a red hoodie with the Deadpool symbol on it, and black tight jeans. And what the hell, red high-top Converse. He strapped swords to his back, holstered some guns and made bandoleers of bullets and knives. And he became Vex.
Yeah, but in his daily life, he's fairly normal. He killed that dude a long time ago, though it still hurt him every time he killed some criminal. The police wanted them arrested, but he knew they were a problem, and so he kept the streets clean by dirtying them up a little. ANYWAY as Eli, he's gotten over everything about his parents and lives relatively normally. He had friends before the accident and they were still his friends afterward. It's just that he lived two lives now. ✖ ExampleSee Blaine Gesse This character is played by [Guess].
