[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width, 500px] [atrb=style,border-top: 10px solid #4477aa;background-color: #222222;] 19 ✖ FEMALE ✖ BISEXUAL ✖ MUTANT
✖Power/AbilityAerokinesis – Her ability enables Claire to manipulate air molecules, granting her the ability to manipulate and create what is commonly known as wind. But there is more to this ability than simply creating or affecting currents of different scale and strength. Compressing multiple layers of wind into high-pressure air, she is even able to build 'objects' consisting of nothing but wind, capable of blocking attacks and hurting others. Having discovered her ability about eight years ago and spent a considerable amount of time training, not wishing to become a menace by accidently losing crontol, Claire by now got a certain feeling for it, capable of effortlessly using her ability to fly. When it comes to the creation of stronger winds of a bigger scale, such as hurricanes, the young girl in theory knows how to do it, but is well aware that she would hardly be able to keep control of such an immense force for a longer period of time, due to the strain being put upon her body. ✖ PersonalityCheerful, passionate and... Random; those are the first impressions most people get, encountering the sapphire topped female for the first time. Being considered a kind, caring and energetic individual she can often be seen with a bright, comfortable smile decorating her delicate face as she dances down the street, humming or singing cheerfully. Even though she may appear to be a nonserious, and therefore somewhat unreliable, airhead at first sight, there is actually more to the kind-hearted mutant than meets the eye. The confident and positive appearing Claire, wearing a heart-warming smile upon her face wherever she goes, actually is nothing but a mask, created by the bluenette in order to be capable of forgetting the past and moving on. While she could generally be described as a social individual, she hardly ever allows anyone to take a look behind her immature facade, not wishing to burden others with the problems paining her heart, while also being scared of getting hurt.
Beneath this false front rests a scared girl, barely able to deal with the situation she is in, wishing for nothing more than being capable of living in peace. It's not like she detests her ability for the situation she is in, but rather is gravely upset, since humans and mutants seem unable to co-exist peacefully. Despite possessing quite a potential as fighter, being a focused individual and quite skilled in the use of her ability, the female actually detests fighting and would rather run away before hurting anyone. Not being a total pacifist, she nevertheless doesn't shrink from protecting herself as well as her friends if necessary. Getting along with her is rather easy due to her extroverted character and the fact that her trust can be gained by acting social and not like a total grinch. While approaching and getting close to Claire might look like an easy task, some people actually might have problems dealing with her for a longer period of time. Her teasing, almost hyper nature is what poses a challenge to people that can't stand noisy and random individuals.
Upon noticing that friends or comrades in general got a hard time bearing with her, the sapphire topped teenager will force herself to hold back, since she doesn't intend to truly offend anyone When being alone she can often be found singing or humming songss, while sitting at elevated spots, her brilliant spheres gazing at the vast heavens above. ✖ History Being born as Kate Lyle, the sole child of Michelle and Josh Lyle, the girl nowadays known as Claire Reynolds was blessed with loving parents, trying everything to see their only daughter happy. Only a few weeks after the azure topped girl's second birthday, her mother got caught up in a massive car accident, dying from the injuries she sustained in it. Being on his own and suffering from the loss of his dear wife Josh, a scientist working for the government, tried his best to properly raise his daughter, while dealing with the steadily growing amount of work, tasks that obviously drained lots of enegery from the dedicated father. But he somehow managed to pull through. Even though lacking a mother, Kate nevertheless enjoyed what could be described as a sheltered and loving childhood. Despite being unable to remember how life had been with the woman, she used to call mother, being around, the cheerful bluenette still missed her, but kept trying hard to distract herself by focusing on idolizing her father.
With the ever growing cases of so-called 'mutant sightings', her idol became more and more unavailable, causing Kate to become a rather self-dependent teenager. She didn't know anything about her father's job, except that it was of utmost importance and that he served mankind. This vacuous piece of information had been everything she received from him, when asking about his work. Of course this wasn't a satisfying answer, since the eleven years old girl couldn't imagine what one had to do in order to 'serve mankind'. At some point in time her father had found out that the cause of his beloved wife's accident had been a mutant incapable of controlling his abilities, causing the scientist to develop a personal grudge against the occurrence known as mutants. Consumed by hatred, he started teaching Kate that mutants were dangerous, vicious beings even worse than any criminal could ever be. Obviously the innocent child believed her father's teachings without even knowing what exactly a mutant was. After all he was her idol, her father, her family.
School, despite being somewhat troublesome actually was a place the sapphire topped teenager liked. Even though being bullied by some children for her dream of one day becoming a famous singer, Kate still managed to make several friends. Her marks were, if at all, slightly above average and she worked hard in order to keep it that way, convinced that she needed more than a cute smile and a great voice to become a top-notch singer. The months passed and the aqua haired female at some point noticed that she was going through changes. Not just the ones one would usually expect when hitting puberty, but also some rather unnatural ones. One day in autumn she sat on a bench in the park, waiting for one of her friends to arrive. Out of boredom she directed her gaze at the falling leaves carrying various shades of yellow and red, thinking about how beautiful it would look if those decaying petals would keep dancing in midair instead of simply sinking to the ground. Just as her mind kept imagining a route for the colorful actors to take, the same actually started following her thoughts, as if guided by an invisible force.
After being lost admiring the sight of bouncing leaves for a moment, Kate noticed that the wind, which had been absent all day long had suddenly begant to blow in front of her, acting like what could be described an extension of her arms. The moment she lost focus of dancing petals, the wind suddenly disappeared without a warning, just as it had appeared before. At first she thought of this incident as a freak of nature, a simple coincidence. But soon she noticed that it hadn't been nature's will granting the autumn leaves one last dance, but her own. Considering it her precious talent, she kept it secret from everyone, including her beloved father, using it only to bridge boredom, when she once again had been left alone. Always humming and singing cheerfully, she let pieces of paper and other items dance according to her wishes, telling the wind what it should do. Years passed and Kate secretly kept practising her ability in search for entertainment, while her father was busy at work.
The bluenette had just finished highschool, when her life changed drastically. Not that the discovery and 'training' of her talent hadn't already changed her life, since she was now able to do things other people couldn't, but the upcoming changes weren't as ebjoyable as the previous ones had been. In the last years Kate had learned quite a lot about mutants by reading reams of articles on the internet and due to several incidents shown on the news. This way she had also learnt about the program her father took part in, which sent shivers down her spine. Some people called them heroes, while the majority seemed to refer to them as monsters, a fact which caused the blue haired teenager to make sure her secret remained hidden, while she kept on exploring her ability, working hard to understand and control it. It was a moment of carelessness combined with the unfortunate circumstance of her father returning early in order to fetch some documents, he had forgotten in the morning, that fiercefully shattered the female's idyllic world. Witnessing how his own daugther somehow let the neighbor's cat levitate across the garden, Josh almost collapsed, unable to understand why his own daughter, his own flesh and blood had to be one of those disgusting mutants that had taken away his beloved wife.
He didn't know why fate had to be this cruel, but he was convinced that he had to call his employer in order for them to pick Kate up and somehow free her from this curse. Blaming himself for not testing either his wife nor his child for traces of mutated DNA, he immediately made the call. The young mutant, was kicked out of her thoughts, when she suddenly heard her father's voice coming from inside the living room. Her heart kept rushing within her chest, as she hurried inside, facing her indignant and confused father as she did. Having heard his request for a team to pick her up, Kate threw her arm forward, unintentionally creating a strong gust of wind, which hit the male's body, throwing it against the wall behind him. She had read underground blogs about what the government did to mutants after catching them and she definitely didn't want to experience such a cruel fate. Feeling sorry for what she had just done and unsure what she was supposed to do now, she left the house, using her father's key in order to steal his car. She had known that something like this would happen if her father was to find out, since she had early learnt about his hatred for people with special abilities.
Hoping that he wouldn't find out she nevertheless had continued to learn how to master her ability and as a result had lost everything. With the only thing left being her life, she decided to fake her death by utilizing gusts of wind to throw the car into a nearby canyon, making it appear as if she had committed suicide. With Kate supposed to be dead, she left the town, changing her name to Claire Reynolds. Two years after this fateful day Claire is living in this huge city, working as a singer in a club, while trying to avoid the government forces. ✖ ExampleAloof, innocent structures pure in color slowly roamed across the azure dyed canopy. Warm, slender fingers blindly reaching out for the distant heavens, desperately longing for junction while, hidden behind shaded glasses, aquamarine spheres kept tracing the ivory entities whose massive forms were turned into copies of almost forgotten faces by a yearning heart. Lying on the house's massive roof, far apart from the noisy and hectical world below, a deep sigh escaped Claire's soft, peachy lips. Loneliness- it had become her shadow and sole companion while trying to get by in these difficult times. The world kept changing each day and every single person along with it. Friends became foes and long term acquaintances were reduced to elusive encounters. Even though convinced that she had made the right decisions, the bluenette still missed the times when life had been far more uncomplicated.
Forcefully being kicked out off her thoughts by the resounding noise of her ringing cellphone, the bluenette slowly averted her weary orbs from the vast sky in order to check the text appearing upon the small item's display. Reading the message's content, another sigh forced its way out of her mouth. Not allowing herself to drown within the endless depths of sadness and regret any further, the young female slowly arose from the algid stone. Standing on top of the building her body was immediately embraced by an agreeable breeze that obstinately lured her towards the edge. Unintentionally reaching for her MP3 player, her motions came to halt even before the tips of her gracile fingers could reach the oval object; as she remembered that the small item had breathe its last right before her feet had made contact with this massive ceiling.
Standing there she remained motionless for a momet, before spreading her arms and tilting forward, handing her slender frame to the wind. What must have looked like the act of committing suicide to any unaware bystander, to her simply was another joyride. Feeling her feet losing contact with the concrete building, a wide, comfortable smile spread across her face. Gazing down on the streets below Claire closed her eyes in order to focus on the wind, which caressed her body like a passionate lover. Being gently embraced by nature's most fascinating force seemed to be one of the few constants that were unaffected by change, since it still felt like it did when she first had touched the sky by using her ability. Feeling it stroke through her sapphire colored hair and massaging her tired limbs caused an agreeable sensation to rush across her body, causing her heart to skip a beat while rushing within her chest, making her feel alive.
Spinning her body like a leaf dancing upon the drafts the aqua haired girl gracefully descended to the ground below, smoothly landing on the pavement by creating gusts strong enough to cushion her fall. Normally she would have refrained from such a reckless act in broad daylight, since she didn't want to attract unnecessary attention. The reason for her to go out of her way, was no other but the message she had received before. It had been a love letter announcing yet another change, an invitation to a brighter future. This character is played by [Maki].
