[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width, 500px] [atrb=style,border-top: 10px solid #4477aa;background-color: #222222;] RILEY WHELAN 15 ✖ FEMALE ✖ UNDETERMINED ✖ MUTANT ✖Power/Ability Riley Whelan has the ability to communicate with others mentally, an ability commonly known as telepathy. Along with this ability though, she has the ability to instantly connect to technology around her. Many would call it a variant of Psyonics, though she doesn't actually know what it is she refers to it as Technomancy with a hint of telepathy. Due to her connection to the 'ghost in the machine', the spirit of tech that she has the ability to talk with, she has a connection to the interwebs, viewing it in her minds eye as a central of glowing lines and threads, like a spiders web, with sections of images and text, code and addresses. When trained, if she becomes trained, she could easily access information from the internet from years ago. Including things that were supposedly wiped, as there is a cookie of everything, even of deleted things. ✖ Personality Young and bold Riley is outgoing and strong minded. She has a large vocabulary and tends to find solace in her fantasy books. Fond of doing odd things like sword-fighting and strange versions of martial arts, she may be seen as eccentric and abnormal. While amongst her peers she is quiet and unassuming, though when talking with older people she is extravagant and knowledgeable, and seems to get along the best with people over the age of 25. She finds her own age group, most of the time, ignorant and or stupid, and tends to have little to no friends to be with in school. As any young lady, she gets her hopes up quite a bit to be let down, and sometimes when those very hopes are let down she becomes angry and upset, sometimes even lashing out with mental pain or other odd things. Tech has been known to short out when her emotions have acted up, including any sort of music players or phones. ✖ History Riley has had a rather normal life. Living with her single parent father, and hearing stories of her miscreant mother who, when she was two or three left Riley and her father. For the entirety of her childhood, from the time she can remember to only recently her dad had a great job as a scientist. When she noticed that she was hearing voices, both of those people around her and, as she later realized, the machines she asked her dad about people with abilities. She was almost thirteen at the time, and he quit his job rather abruptly. Since he quit his job she has spent a lot more time with him, happily working on her school work with his help. The past two years for her have been tough. Both she and her dad receiving possible communication from her mother. Both of them not sure how they feel about this. Having almost started her freshman year, on top of her mothers contact, she feels a little overburdened, and has some gloom-cookieness about her. ✖ Example Riley stared at the letter. The elegant handwriting scrawled across the page in what was almost her own handwriting, though thinner and almost malevolent seeming. She gave the text a scowl after glancing over the page once again, disliking that her own handwriting was reminiscent of her mothers. She looked up at her dad, who's face was unreadable but thoughts clearly spoke to her. She had learned two years ago, when she first discovered her ability to hear others thoughts, to ignore those thoughts. Once, just after her thirteenth birthday, she had heard the thoughts of others, and responded to them... That was a fun thing. She continued glowering at the letter, throwing it onto her side of the dining room table with a small rude noise. ”How did she figure out where we were? Why the hell would she contact us now?” This character is played by [Sol Keros]. |
