[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width, 500px] [atrb=style,border-top: 10px solid #4477aa;background-color: #222222;] RAI DURANT. 18 ✖ MALE ✖ HETERO✖ MUTANT ✖Power/Ability Empathic mimicry: Rai's DNA automatically resequences itself to mimic the abilities of those around him; but he currently doesn’t know that he is a mutant. DUN DUN DUN DUN Example: If Rai starts up a conversation with a mutant who can fly, he would slowly start rising from the ground without realizing it. At first, he will only be able to mimic powers while he is close to the person they belong to, but he will eventually learn to control his powers enough that he can recall the last power he mimicked and use it until he mimics another. That is, once he realizes he’s a mutant. ✖ Personality Rai Durant is a still, quiet young man. He tends to keep his thoughts to himself. However, if you start a conversation with him, he will talk back and try to look as though he is interested. He wants to be like everyone else and he wants to be liked, so he will go to your party or your “big game” if you ask him to. He’ll always laugh at your jokes. Rai isn't really very cool: he blends into crowds, he hangs out on the fringes at parties, and wearing shades after dark makes him run into things. He sometimes thought that he was special, or destined for greater things when a mutant would be nearby and his power would activate, but dismissed the idea as a fantasy when he couldn’t do it again. He tries to forget his past by getting drunk occasionally, often leaving him with a terrible hangover. He doesn’t “do drunk” very well, but he keeps drinking anyway, though he’s trying to stop. ✖ History Rai Durant suffers terrible guilt for something he did in the past: he accidently killed his older brother when he was in Junior High. He has no idea how it happened, and there was no proof that he did it, so no one blames him. He knows it was him though. Rai was playing a video game when his brother Jace nagged him repeatedly to clean up his mess in the kitchen. Rai began losing his patience (wanting of course, to finish the level he was on), and a bolt of electricity shot from the computer, through the door, and downstairs where it hit Jace and killed him instantly. The crime was labeled Household Incident: Jace must have been electrocuted. He was, after all, washing his hands while listening to his iPod when he was killed. No one believed Rai when he said it was his fault. The assumed it was "survivor's guilt." Rai is currently a senior in high school and hangs out with the football team (hence the drinking and parties), though he has no interest in the sport. He used to play drums exceptionally well until he started drinking. The hangovers gave him massive headaches, and he hasn’t picked up his set in a couple of years. More of his history will be revealed later. This character is played by [Tora].
