✖ Personality Navvi has no personality to speak of, which comes with the territory of being a robotic construct. However, it does possess an astounding Artificial Intelligence that borders on sentience. Navvi feels nothing and knows nothing other than what it is told, or whatever information may be uploaded to it. Navvi does not adhere to the archetypical Laws of Robotics, as it was only programmed to do as it was told AS it was told. It is possible to "program" a personality in Navvi through voice commands, in order to make it seem more Human for camouflage purposes. However, if a person dug through its programming or conversed with Navvi enough, they would find that Navvi actually has a hidden "default" personality already in it. No one knows of this hidden identity within it, nor where it came from, if it has any origins. |
[/li][li]Unless otherwise told, will prefer non-violence and live capture over fighting and destroying a target.
[/li][li]Takes everything it's told literally, so instructions must be clear and detailed unless you want it to act on its own.
[/li][li]Self-preservation only extends so far as to protect its builder's investment in it.
[/li][li]Due to its super-high processing power, Navvi is unable/forbidden to network with any computer or network unless it's through typical Human means, or using a specialized networking plug available only to its creators.
[/li][li]Despite technically being able to break down any form of matter, decomposition of living tissue, Human or Mutant or animal, is off-limits.[/li][/ul][/blockquote]
✖ History
Navvi is the most advanced iteration of a project that began since before the mutant virus came into being. It had humble beginnings as basic research into the field of nanorobotics. Research such as just getting the concept to work in the first place considering how difficult the manaufacture and maintenence of microscopic robots were. However, once the mutant threat became... a threat, the project found new life as a tool to fix the problem.
The current version is actually the sixth stable version, and arguably the most powerful. Of course the people who built Navvi are a bunch of government-funded nerds so there was one substantial feature they had to gut in the sixth version. Originally, Navvi may have actually been a sentient machine, though it was difficult to prove. In order to avoid the age-old, if only speculated, problem of a machine rebelling against its creators, Navvi's supposed sentience was reined back until its thought processes were more or less like any other computer.
Due to the amount of money needed not only to create but also maintain Navvi, there is only one Nanocolony like it.
