[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width, 500px] [atrb=style,border-top: 10px solid #4477aa;background-color: #222222;] TWENTY-ONE ✖ MALE ✖ PANSEXUAL ✖ MUTANT
✖Power/AbilityAkimoto has control over shadows, meaning that he can manipulate the Realm between light and darkness with some moderate success. Because he's such a "neutral" person, he can manipulate both sides, although it doesn't go beyond the ability of lightening or darkening the shadows around him. Of course for his powers to work there need to be shadows present, otherwise he's powerless and defenseless. His powers entail that he can move silently through the shadowy cover soundlessly and without being noticed and useful if he doesn't want to be noticed. He also can take a piece of shadow from the shadows and form an object with it, although they remain primitive and are mostly harmless objects and obviously won't work in total darkness or light, places where there aren't shadows in short. Also the shadow seems to have some sort of fondness for the young man, clinging to his form when he's close to a source of them.
In short:
Weaknesses ;;
✖ PersonalityHe is the type that someone won't notice quickly. He is shy and introverted and rather stays with his books than mingle with other people in general. It isn't to say that he's not nice when he's forced into conversation, he's actually rather gentle and makes a good partner for some conversation. He just rather avoids it whenever possible at the moment. It comes to the next part of his personality, the young man is blind, or as good as, he only sees shadows and that has left him rather paranoid. The doctors has said that at this rate, he would be blind over a year or two. It leaves Akimoto with feelings of frustration and shock. The fact that he has to hide his powers hasn't helped him any at all, he keeps running and running without looking back, afraid to see the expressions on their fading faces.
His anger has led him to being cruel to other people at times. He snaps at them and uses sarcasm, the people often not knowing that this is but a facade to protect himself from possible taunting that he would receive when they discover that he can't see them clearly. After all, it's better to protect oneself than be attacked and regret it, at least in his eyes. He sometimes misses the closeness he had with people when he still could see, but those relationships seems to have faded and leaves him rather hollow and even more disappointed in everything.
It hasn't helped that he was one of those that they have experienced on. While he wasn't treated too badly, it has taken some faith away that he had in other people, too. He now has a slight dislike for anything that resembles a doctor in behavior, but mainly in clothing.
Akimoto won't plain out say it, but he is rather afraid of dogs and the sound of their barks makes him pale and shake lightly and check if there's a close exit nearby if they suddenly decide that he seems like an interesting person. He rather avoids them, the smaller they are, the more problems he has with them, because most of them seem to want to crawl in his lap. He absolutely detests that, obviously and often pushes them out. Or just hope that someone would see his discomfort and help him out with his predicament. He also has a fear for water, never having learned to swim, although he won't feel much discomfort as long it stays underneath his hips, although he remains the most comfortable when it's underneath his knees.
The young man also has the habit of tugging on his own hair at times and nibbling on his lower-lip, both things that his parents have tried to make him stop. He switched to nail-biting though and thus they gave up and simply let him do the hair-tugging and lip-biting. ✖ HistoryThe young man was born to normal parents who loved him dearly and raised him the best they could. They treated him fairly, punishing him when he did something bad and praising him when he did something good, although with something akin to regret in their eyes. They were saddened in actuality, because Akimoto's mother couldn't conceive normally, she had allowed herself to be inseminated. It worked after a few tries, obviously, but the boy had to suffer for it. He was born with a genetic defect that would cause him to go blind the older he got. It didn't stop them from loving him however and already started keeping money aside for a surgery that would allow him to see again.
Akimoto grew up normally, laughing and making friends and making his first enemies too as a toddler. He was forced to learn both to read normally and Braille as it would be useful later on for him. He didn't really mind, loving to learn both.
It was around the age of ten that both parents noticed that something was wrong, they soon discovered what. Their son was playing around with the shadows. It looked like some kind of tag, the young child running away before it could touch him. The look that both shared promised that they would keep him safe, no matter what. It didn't last long however, he was discovered when he was playing around unthinkingly and was taken away. He couldn't contact his parents nor anyone else. They experimented on him, although the tests weren't as cruel as his parents had made him belief.
He even managed to befriend one of the doctors there, not knowing that she was send to befriend him on the Director's orders. He is still there, although occasionally allowed to go out and meet his parents. They are constantly watched and thus cannot tell him to run, or get that message across in any way. Thus he remains obvious to what the company is really doing while his sight is slowly worsening even more and would leave him soon completely blind. Something that he seemingly have no problems with, at all. ✖ Example [Taken from the wonderful Simple Decadence, may it come back soon! This dates from somewhere around 2007/08, if I'm remembering clearly.]
He still had to ignore the pretty hurtful words; Scarface hadn't been that bad of an insult, but just to hear it out of Axel's mouth had been enough to lift him into the familiar berserker's rage. Oh, true, he deserved those insults and he had been sure that he had thrown a few back in the course of that time. He had remained pretty stoic underneath it though, that was the only part that came with him as Isa to the Nobody that he was now. He just shrugged it off, forgiving him for those words, but never forgetting them. He never had paid the other back for that, oh well. He had enough time if they should continue the way they did now, he still wouldn't make it easy for the other Nobody. He had made that 'promise' to himself and to Axel as well and he wasn't the one that would break it easily. He pondered for a moment how he could do that best, he would have to do it subtly like he always was. He could use that little ability with words of his. The ability that made that he could use everything he knew about the other to twist it around and hurt them. He even used it on Axel to let him forget about the friendship with Roxas, how it had backfired. He had used it many times and always had felt satisfaction at doing such things. The biggest change in him, he never liked to hurt anyone on purpose when he was a Somebody and still somewhat quite naive.
He half remembered that they had fought once as a Somebody, the redhead had done something that he hadn't liked, it was most likely something stupid if he should care to remember about it. He had of course snapped at Lea with hurtful words when said boy had tried to talk himself out of it. He also remembered that Lea had stayed clear from anything related to that topic for a rather long time. Hah, those memories. He almost could look fondly down on them still. His mind had cleared enough that he could allow himself to relax, focusing on everything that the other male did and spoke. He wouldn't be caught unaware if he could help it, or maybe he could lash out with his hand. He wouldn't use his weapon anymore, it wasn't his purpose to cleave Axel's head off, well not right now. He still could change his mind if the other Nobody decided to annoy him nonetheless or decided to use him like Xemnas had tried to use him once to gather hearts. He had seen what the superior had done wasn't right, even if no one had feelings and couldn't care about it. He had manipulated people as well, when he was commanded to do so. He had messed up Sora's mind this way, letting him believe that the girl was lost. He had everyone against him on that moment, even Xemnas that he still seemed to play as a puppet master would do. He played docile, but wanted nothing more than to rip the man's non-existing heart out.
He paused as a thought crossed his mind, something that he remembered having a few times when Axel had been dragging him around once more, maybe it would work to let the other Nobody do this, it would feel like the good ol' times and would give both of them a step toward the old friendship they had. Besides, he really wanted to taste sea salt ice-cream once more, before he pummeled Axel a few times to show his annoyance to nothing in general. The pulling around he could do without though. He was used to it, but he didn't enjoy it at all. He liked to keep in charge on where he went and not be dragged around like some child's ragdoll. He still wondered how the redhead had managed to become his best friend like that, it was something that kept returning to him, plaguing his mind. The difference in personality was one that could have prevented it, the differences in background and a few other things. He never asked for Lea's past and the boy had done the same. Okay, maybe he tried once or twice, maybe it was that that had made him snap that one time? It was something that he didn't care to ponder upon, he had been angry once, let that be dealt with. He had always felt slightly amused that Lea blew over the top over small things, well Isa would have considered them small things. It hadn't come as a big surprise that L- Axel got the power over fire.
Yet again his orbs ran over the other man and he took in everything as always, brow furrowing briefly. He didn't like how tired his once -maybe again- best friend looked. He looked tired, ready to drop and die where he stood and that 'concerned' the cold azure-haired male. His lips pulled down briefly and he cleared his throat lightly "Maybe you should find a place to sleep." He suggested lightly, or maybe he would force Axel to do so. He could pull it off, although he wouldn't have the right to do so, but he most of the time got what he wanted in the end. He could be considered a nanny to the very few friends, in other words, only friend, he had managed to gather with his silence as Isa. He kept aloof about it and sometimes even pretended not to feel it, but no one could have said that the emotion was fake when it did show, it was maybe fake now; but it stemmed from an emotion he had felt many times when he was still Isa. He even would protect the other man if it was needed, what they had again was still fragile, it didn't stop him. It also could give him time to plan something. He had to hide a small smile at that, the redhead wouldn't be able to laugh with it, but he could after shrugging the words off as Axel dared to rant against him once more.
The feeling of unease had faded, but finally came back. He felt the unease of this conversation as well, along with the sense that something still could go wrong. Heartless wouldn't bother them, since they had no heart to steal, other nobodies wouldn't bother them. It was more of a someone that could interrupt this fragile thing they had going on. He was sure however that Axel had something planned already and that the feeling would fade, he had always been the best in talking out of the two of them. He preferred to keep back and still did if he had the chance to do so. He realized that he actually only talked when Axel had addressed him or if he had to say something that had been 'important' in their young lives, it was also something curious why he had refused to talk to someone before in a normal conversation, apart from the 'hello', 'good', 'bye' or even the occasional 'sorry' as well. The same word he had said when meeting Lea for the first time.
The mock salute had his other eyebrow joining the first. His gaze briefly flashing to the hand coming to rest on the other's hip. He snorted lightly as Axel spoke "If you try stopping being so optimistic all the time." He retorted, raising his chin lightly. The grin growing on the other's face didn't ease his worries, the same grin when they were still Somebodies. The grin that mostly told that Lea was in for some trouble and leaving Isa to go behind him and get him out of whatever trouble he had been in, although he had always commented that he would leave the redhead alone if he attempted to do something like that again. He was still hesitant however, still not liking that he had maybe to share Axel again with others, also one of the reasons why their friendship was destroyed in the first place. He nonetheless would stay with it, he would give Axel the chance to be friends with them, even if he didn't like them. He never had been good in groups, preferring to be alone or with somebody else. He also could handle being with two others, even three, but then it was getting too much for him. He wasn't sure that anyone would give him a chance however, he had destroyed too many things that weren't exactly forgivable.
He actually laughed softly as the other stammered, it hadn't been often that he could get the other silent with his words, the times it did happen. Well, that was a time to rejoice in his eyes "What?" He said lightly "Trying to say that you aren't?" He grew serious though, memorizing those words indeed. He either could stop himself from doing something like that again, or just push him into more garbage "I never aimed to be creative, Sherlock.." He blinked at the anger comment. His face blank, gaze blinking a few moments "Did I ever give you the impression that your anger affected me?" He questioned, lips twitching. He knew that Axel would get it. He finally turned toward the other, making it easier to brush at the jacket a few moments later.
He gazed up when Axel looked at him "...?" He only could make silence seem questioning. The claws digging in him couldn't be comfortable and he wasn't surprised at the squirming. He had lowered his hand when he nodded "Good.." He finally spoke, allowing himself to keep turned toward the other male. He yet again paused, frown once more marring his forehead "Not too much lasting damage I hope." He finally spoke. It couldn't be said if it was out of real faked concern or mock concern. He looked up as the words registered in Axel's head. He took a step back, laughing weakly once more "Ah, did I really say that..?" He spoke "Apologies." mocking this time, no question about it. The amusement was still apparent however, there was nothing that should stop him from doing so and it was still that he felt somewhat comfortable around Axel.
He shrugged as the other continued "Maybe not.." He blinked "I think it goes far beyond that.." He commented dryly, but didn't argue "I also do not... freak about it." He looked at the ground, a bit uncomfortable. He knew that he never could be truly considered beautiful, he was maybe to some, but he never would be able to believe it. He let out a soft sigh, loosing concentration on the conversation as he tried to think of someone who could say that he was beautiful, those who were uglier than him that was a given, although his senses still where on high alert, his mind just.. wandered for a bit as he was thinking.
He nodded his head "Indeed.." He looked at the other "Also more chance to be killed by said girls.." He yet again mocked "It would be a horror if you stole all the boys from underneath their noses.." A shrug "Can't say much about the boys, they will be glad to follow you everywhere you want them to.." A light shake of the head as Axel once more went through his hair to get all of the dirt out of it. He still found that Axel should have been a girl, the name that he was given as a Nobody didn't help with destroying the thought. He raised an eyebrow "Alright, but I haven't seen many of those good ones you speak off.." He deadpanned, hiding the smirk at the pout.
His form tensed as his shoulder was touched, but he didn't brush the hand away. He let the silence carry on before his form finally started to relax, a soft sigh escaping him and his eyes half-way closing "More messed up?" A light shake of the head "I don't think it is possible." A smirk did form on his lips now, answering the weary one that Axel carried. This character is played by [GRIM].
