[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width, 500px] [atrb=style,border-top: 10px solid #4477aa;background-color: #222222;] CECILIA DeAQUILA. 35✖ FEMALE ✖ ASEXUAL ✖ MUTANT ✖Power/Ability Blindsight- This is the ability for one to have the ability to act, fight, and navigate when blinded, in darkness, or having lost sight in some other way. It’s harder for those who aren’t blind to pick this ability up. When a person cannot see, they use their other senses that are heightened past human abilities, with touch; this is heightening to be the blind can feel the vibration of bigger beings and items. As a mutant, the blind person can also have a visual for the things around them; the only problem is that they have to be familiar with the area around them not only that, but they cannot see the faces of others when their minds sense the vibrations going through their mind. ✖ Personality The first thing that people will notice is that she’s a tidy person despite her being blind, everything has an order and will stay that way, no ands, ifs, or buts. Another is that she is battles with being ethical, in her past life it was all rules but now she isn’t hesitant if she had to break them or not. Cecilia is disciplines and is cautious when she’s around people or new places. When she works, Cecilia works hard, thinks in a logical sense, with goals and partiality. Not only that but ever since her incident with DNCS, she plans ahead thinking what situations that could happen. ✖ History YEARLY YEARS |
Two normal parents and two normal children, an older sister and a younger brother, it was almost like a complete and perfect picture. The father was a cop and the mother was a stay at home mom, and with Cecilia seeing how her father protected, she did, too. Whenever she would see her brother in trouble she would go and protect him from bullies when they were in elementary school. But Cecilia went through school as normal as they came, bright and cheerful, always wanting to be involved, you know just like a child. The only thing she didn’t expect was a lingering power the laid on her shoulders.
COLLEGE[/u]
She had vision: become a better cop than her father. She decided to go to college, supporting herself with scholarships, from both academics and from Track and Field that she had done since in middle school. She had a tight relationship with the cops from Endonia, they were like a second family to hers. Of course what do petty pickpocketers would know from a young woman walking home by herself late at night.
How long had the fight gone on? How did the cops get there? It happened so fast for Cecilia, first she was hit pretty hard behind the head, but after learning how hard that part of the head was, she knew she wasn’t knocked out but couldn’t see. Suddenly turning around, her foot instantly hit the ground and that’s when she saw the outline of the man, his fist coming towards her, but he was down with a broken arm towards his elbow. She sat down and had a small blackout; a paramedic came to see if she was ok and upon hearing that she a few moments ago she couldn’t see, Cecilia was rushed to the hospital where they preformed a MRI preformed, but nothing was shown. She was sent back to her home where she would take a break for a few weeks just in case she would have a concussion.
Cecilia had never forgotten that night, finding out what it could have been but there were no answers from the internet. She had graduated with a Criminal Justices degree and moved on to the police academy.
DEPUTY[/u]
Cecilia would be one feared when trying to run from the cops. When one cop would stop for a breath she was still going, of course staying in track until she got out of college made her a little more healthier than most of the cops she would go out on patrol with. But also being 22 was a plus when catching the bad guys. Her brother on the other hand went to school for a plain old degree in business, he blames the fact that Cecilia was always the one protect him.
After she had turn 26, she applied to rise to the rank of Sergeant, making her over look a small group of new police officers. Cecilia would take them out on their first missions and keep a close eye on their performances. Once more she applied for another promotion, becoming a Lieutenant, now working with more experienced cops and those that diverged to becoming a detective; she went to bloodier crimes than ones that she had seen before.
Four years later, that was when her real fun began. A violent husband didn’t want to give up his wife and of course who was one of the few called up to the scene? Cecilia was there, trying to talk calmly to the man, but was getting frustrated with him, starting to lose her cool. The man then escaped, busting through the few cops that were there. This excited Cecilia; it let her see if she still had it in her to chase the man down to the ground. She ran him into a corner losing sight of the other backups.
The man was nervous; he looked around for a weapon in the shadows. “You know you can never hide from the cops. We’re too good.” A smile appeared on her face; the man picked up a metal bar and started swinging it around. Cecilia ducked, blocking it, feeling the stinging on her arms. Then someone yelled out to her, Cecilia turned around. Bam! She fell to ground and was out cold.
BREAKING OUT[/u]
The faint beeping of the heart monitor could be heard. Was she at the hospital? Cecilia thought she opened her eyes, but there was. There was nothing there, pitch black. Her hands tightened up bunching the blankets. She fumbled for the remote but before she could press for the nurse, two came in, Cecilia heard them, suddenly her monitor could be heard, it was loud and going fast. Was that her heart?
“Ma’am, we need you to calm down.” One nurse said calmly, rubbing her arm to help her calm down. Cecilia only took a deep breath, one after another, allowing herself to calm down. Finally, she did. They gave her a cup of water, which she gladly took.
“What happened to me?” She looked up and missed by a shot were the nurses heads were at.
“Well, you looked a good hit to the back of your head. We took a MRI and well, that area is going haywire.” Everyone was silent. “We believe we’ve found a group who is willing to take you in and help your blindness.”
“Blindness!?” Cecilia’s head jerked, that was when she realized her head throbbed slightly, but thanks to the meds, it was very dull.
“Yes.” Piped up the other nurse, she had some southern accent. “It’s called cortical blindness. It’s when the occipital cortex his hit pretty dang hard and well, it just blanks out. But with you hun, it’s a mess.” Cecilia rubbed her forehead. This was a fine mess, hopefully these people could help her with her problem, and she’ll just have to live like this. Dang, she’s going to get fired, and she only had five more years until she could retire.
A few weeks later, a man came and picked her up. They drove for a while until they had reached their destination. Cecilia was given a room and that’s when her first exercise happened. These people took her around, asking questions, like if she could see in her mind. At first, she couldn’t, it was very faint, she could see people through vibrations but the places around them, and no nothing was there. Then, she started getting an idea for the floor they would drill her around.
After that, they would push her, seeing how far she could hear someone, testing her touch with different elements and materials. They would push until her sense overloaded and she would pass out or get a good burn. Then they would take her and see how far up she would have to go before she “couldn’t see anymore”.
Through her stay with DNCS was one of anguish that made her personality flip. It made her maddening but also reclusive to those around her. But everything started sharpening and becoming better. Now she only needed to find a way out. Through her wheeling around the place, she felt they were low, she only needed to get up.
One night when it was just her and the scientist, Cecilia made her move. This frightened those scientists, the way how she moved as if she weren’t blind, but if one looked closely, they could tell her eyes just wandered. But deep in her mind, she way their outlines, seeing how defensive they were. The training she had received during her years as a cop helped, those two were down. But it was too easy for her, Cecilia thought as she stumbled through the hallways. Then security stopped her, he was an even better fighter than her, it was tough. Just before she got passed him, he called for backup just as she started to walk fast. Her hand on the chilling wall, she then bumped it against some metal. It was a cloth shut, she opened it up and felt how big it was.
There she went, hearing and feeling the foot stomps of the securities backup was the last thing she felt until she got buried under clothing. After waiting, someone entered, Cecilia curled into a tight ball her breathing quickens, as her eyes widened in fear. Luckily they were there to pick up the clothing; she tasted freedom on her tongue.
As she passed by she overheard someone talking.
“We can’t let subject 2259 leave! It was valuable! Blindsight, not every blind person is born with this. Not only that, but we also had to see how 2259 had late development in power.” The scientist sounded upset over the lose. Cecilia’s anger flared, that’s all she was? A science experiment? But she needed to stay down until they got out.
LIFE a YEAR LATER[/u]
Living a reclusive life, some of her cop buddies would come over to her small and quiet apartment to check up on her. But this is only a trusted group because now, no one was to be trusted. Cecilia lives in caution, going out only when she needs to. Of course, she also keeps up with new mutants; hushed words go around saying that she would help out a mutant when they needed help training and honing their powers.
Of course, she does no things, but warns them of people who will take them. She doesn’t want to be bothered, just to be left alone.
