Celia is eccentric and full of contradictions: both dependent and independent, calm and restless. Passionate, emotional, and perceptive. She is very serious when it comes to work, her family not being the richest, and so she welcomes any form of income at all. She is not one to be described as "bubbly" but when around those with whom she is comfortable, she is relaxed and energetic. For her, "energetic" equates to thinking rapidly, speaking frankly, and being overly exuberant. That is, assuming that she hasn't been irritated by others in advance, in which case her quick temper will surface along with a fair few sour retorts and, when her temper gets the better of her, or under the influence of some form of alcohol, hse has been known to threaten others no matter her situation and despite the consequences, which considering her height is almost comical to watch, however her fierce, and at times violent attitude has in her mind never ceased to force at least some form of uneasiness from those present. Around those she dislikes, once one gets her to open her mouth, she won't stop. From biting sarcasm to harsh taunting, she'll continue to rip at a person until she gets herself threatened with bodily harm or suffers verbal backlash herself. This often leads to her getting in too deep and getting hurt in the end, though she is aware of it and still pushes on, because hell, its fun and entertaining. She doesn't take many things seriously outside of work, so her social life is a bit....weird, as is her perception of work, to be honest. People may, at times, think her flaky and her eccentrics often put people out more often then not.
Once you get used to her though and vice versa, she tends to calm down, or as much as is humanly possible for an Italian, turning out to to be more or less a thoughtful and business like person on an off day, and the complete opposite on any other day. If she wants a job done, she demands it's done right the first time. No' ifs', 'ands' or 'buts'. However, don't expect her sharp tongue to lessen one bit, despite how friendly she may be with you. She has a thing for violence, and though she may advocate it, she does so in a controlled way. In her mind, if she is going to go to the trouble of creating somewhat unneccessary violence, she might as well do so in a structured manner, with as little mess as possible, although this does not mean that she doesn't welcome the prespect of inflicting pain upon certian individuals. However, she also likes to stay on the side lines during major conflicts of others, so one could quite easily label her as a coward.
Despite her faults, when the going gets tough, Celia is willing to buckle down and adapt to the situation. She's a bit stuck in the past, and holds grudges easily, however.
✖ History
Celia was born in the region of Sicilia, Southern Italy. The younger of twins by 3 hours. The first few years of their lives passed by without much notice, she grew with her older brother quite normally, despite the two displaying intense feelings of displaced anger and small spouts of aggression. The bliss didn’t last long however, until another sibling arrived to capture the attention of seemingly their whole neighbourhood. The twins watched as their brother shone under the spotlight his adorable face had created, while the two pouted and ran off to their own devices. Celia was very close with her twin brother, despite their lack of ability to confide in each other with their darkest secrets. A secret the two seemed to share now, however, was their discomfort with the changes they were experiencing since the birth of the new baby. Though the two were clearly protective, as they should have been with their places as older siblings, they couldn’t help but become jealous of the young child’s clear talent even at an early age.
The differences in the children were clear, as though there was a clear line drawn between them. The older twins had an irrational anxiety around their parents, finding that their constant attempts to please them too mediocre in comparison with the natural talents of their younger, seemingly perfect, brother, while the younger was thrilled to find that he was constantly fussed over; his various displays of cuteness never failing to give him an endless supply of their parents' full attention.
The distinction between them became more obvious as, when they had left school, the younger eagerly set out into the world to become an overly successful young doctor, never straying too far from their traditional family home, while the elders left their hometown as soon as possible, if nothing more than to spite their parents to work towards their goals in a country that was as far away from their home in Italy as they saw possible; Japan. Celia left to find her first job at age 24, having already achieved a bachelor's degree in Genetics before leaving her home country.
Despite the initial excitement at the whole prospect, she was weary, and eager to start her travels and escape the dreary town. She had conspired with her brother to start the journey by leaving together, like they always had, but once they reached a new city that seemed particularly promising they soon split up in order to pursue their own dreams, Celia's in particular being the science of genetic modification, which never ceased to fascinate her, whereas her brother seemed far from sharing her passion.
Considering thar she didn't cease to make herself known in the area by applying for a wide number of jobs working in laboratories and other such research facilities, fully understanding that the area of science that she found fascinating (genetic modification in human embryos) had been long since made illegal, and so after a few months of being turned down for many jobs that she had applied for, however did not retain the sufficient qualifications to be accepted for them, her initial thought being that perhaps, if she apply for every opening that she came across, at least one of them was bound to respond by saying that she fitted the necessary requirements for the job.
Despite her overly flawed logic, she was not to be disappointed after one of her many seemingly vain attempts to quickly aquire the job that she had been looking for was proven to be successful, after a long day at the coffee shop she had begun to work for, part-time, in order to make ends meet while she searched for a long-term occupation, when she booted up her computer to find an e-mail stating that she had been offered a job researching animal breeding at a nearby government facility, considering that it was one of the few that she had applied for with her degree in mind, rather than simply applying for the sake of applying.
Still, she seemed content as she excelled as one of many low-ranking geneticists, steadily making her way up the social ladder, although failing to recieve a promotion, for one reason or another that was completely unknown to her. Still, despite this she continued to work to the best of her abilities, and soon became known in a range of social circles, which within the government was never a bad thing, anyway. Social cnonections meant promotions, after all.
After a year, she was leading her division headfirst into a series of new, albeit small, scientific developments and additions to existing research, which undoubtedly gained her even more publicity within the government facility and beyond, and after a a particular breakthrough that had the potential (had it have been legally allowed) to develop into an all-new study of cloning humans, though with the potential to unlock some form of almost super-human enhancements, much to her excitement, although something seemed to be missing; the gene that would trigger said enhancements, although she was certain that with her limited research showed that it would otherwise have worked, and so she gave it the benefit of the doubt and proceeded regardless. One declined research proposal later, however, she may not have had direct permission to begin research with a team, her efforts were rewarded by an offer to join a seperate division of the Japanese government that claimed to oversee the development of the supernatural abilities of those known as 'mutants,' a term that in this particular context she was not familiar with, although seeing this as a positive outcome she gladly accepted the position, all thought on her failed research a figment of the past in her mind, although the realisation of the theory's many flaws did come as a rather large disappointment to her.
Having been working with this particular scientific division for approximately a year, Celia's fascination in genetics has been tesnsferred to the mutants, believing fully that the secret behind that non-existant single gene required to prove her research to be valid lies within them, and so finds that she can overlook their mistreatment of the so-called 'mutants' that those within the government division referred to as 'patients,' if the research being conducted is for the greater good. After all, as far as she is concerned, it most certainly is.

She's pleasantly evil XD jk She seems fun >W< I love how casual she is about experimenting on mutants. :] All in the sake of helping humanity \o/ I don't think the mutants will appreciate her much though XD Make your claims if you haven't already and prepare for tons of plottage because you are bound to get it lol |
